Names, phone numbers, and addresses entered into a search form are sent to the outside provider that supplies the results. Northampton Residents Directory does not retain a separate copy of those queries on its own servers. A message sent through the contact route contains only the information included in that message and is used to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Like most hosted services, the site receives ordinary server-log information, such as IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. Aggregate review helps maintain the service and understand which reference pages are used. Cookies or related tools may support basic analytics and, when used, advertising measurement.
How Information Is Used
Information is used to operate the service, diagnose problems, measure traffic, and improve the reference material. Visitor lists are not sold, and the site does not create individual visitor profiles.
External Services and Links
Links may lead to Hampshire County, Massachusetts, or Northampton records portals, library collections, archives, and outside search tools. The policy of the destination service controls any information submitted after leaving this site. That includes sponsored results supplied by a third party.
Service Providers and Disclosure
Hosting and support providers process server-log data on behalf of the service. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. Information is disclosed only when required by valid legal process or as otherwise described in this policy.
Security and Retention
The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the operational purposes described above. There are no user accounts, so Northampton Residents Directory does not keep account passwords or visitor profiles that could be exposed.
Visitors Under 18
This service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has sent information through a contact channel, contact us so it can be removed.
Your Privacy Choices
Depending on where a visitor lives, there may be rights to seek access, correction, or deletion of personal data a service holds. Massachusetts research did not identify a comprehensive consumer data-broker statute with a universal deletion or opt-out process. Because this service keeps little visitor information, a request usually involves checking the contact mailbox and relevant server logs, then removing information found there where appropriate. Public records held by Massachusetts, Hampshire County, or Northampton custodians are outside this service’s control; direct requests about those records to the agency that holds them.
